Steps & Floors recorded during Activity

Hi all,

The more I am using the VENU2, the more questions arise:

I have noticed, that if you do a hike activity or run activity, your STEPS count increases.
I have also noticed, that a mountainbike activity make the FLOORS CLIMBED count skyrocket.

While one may argue, that steps are steps, no matter if they are during an activity or not, it is absolutely beyond me, why the software records FLOORS CLIMBED, when cycling up a hill during a BIKE activity (!). It should be trivial for a so called "smart watch" to understand, that changes in altitude during an active BIKE activity are not related to climbing floors...?

am i doing it wrong? or is the device not so smart after all?

Dear friends at GARMIN, care to comment on this?

Also: Can anyone point me into the right direction, how to edit recorded FLOORS CLIMBED for a day? the 175 floors recorded are messing up my statistics...

Thanks!
