Venu 2 | Bug with stairs climbed

I have had some missed stairs up. I know the watch relies on arm swings so that may contribute. Also it seems to do better counting steps down than up.

Two other things - the watch has a delay in registering a floor climb, I have seen it take up to 30 seconds or more. Also make sure the sensor (just above the band bar) is not clogged.

FWIW be glad you don't have a Samsung watch. They have an algorithm that requires an elevation change that is greater than most peoples 1st to 2nd floor gain. I never got any floor counts with my Active2. There are many people posting about this on their forums.

I finish the days with an average of 60 floors mounted, which is 50 floors too many, it is not a problem of delay. And the sensor is not clogged either.

Sounds like a HW issue to me

That bug has been on all Garmin watches for years, from the Marq to the Vivosmart 4. They’re algorithm unfortunately isn’t too good

It very occasionally misses a flight (up or down) but it’s the most accurate yet out of all the Garmins I’ve had. 

After cleaning the sensor mine seems to be very accurate as well.
