Replace heart rate data by data recorded with chest strap

I have a Tacx Neo 2T on which I do virtual bike rides. I use a Polar chest strap HRM because I think it's more accurate than my Venu 2. This morning I did a virtual bike ride of 90 minutes and the difference between the two was huge: where my Polar at times was giving me a HR of 160 (I was in a long ascent, which seems to be correct), the Venu 2 gave me 69. During the rest of the ride, the Venu 2 never gave me a higher heart rate than 89, whereas my Polar gave an average of 150, which I find more accurate.

When I finished I imported the ride data into Garmin (I use Rouvy, which is not linked to my Garmin account). While my Garmin Connect tells me it has adopted the calories I burned during my ride (recorded by Rouvy and imported into Garmin), it took the heart rate data from my Venu 2. Consequently Garmin Connect also tells me that I didn't do any intensive activity today (which is odd, as I worked my butt off during those 90 minutes).

Is there a way that I can replace the Venu 2 heart rate recorded during the ride, with that of the Polar? The data must be already in Garmin somewhere, as I imported the FIT-file into Garmin and that contains the correct heart rate data?

Thanks for your suggestions.

  • Try starting a cardio activity on the V2. It should use the external HRM during the activity.

  • Thanks for your suggestion. I'll give that a try. But this implies that I start an activity on my V2. At the same time an activity is recorded in Rouvy (containing al kinds of GPS data (location, altitude), power and cadence). Is there a way to merge or combine these two activities into one?

  • I don't think so.  Doesn't roovy pick up your heart rate data from the strap?

  • Yes it does. Well, maybe I should just try it in practice.

  • With my previous watch the VA3 was giving me HR data.

Then I got the Edge 1030 and the GC was combining data.

Then I got an arm HR sensor I believe Vahoo and I don't know which HR sensor data is now uploaded to GC.

Then a VA3 battery kaputt and I got the V2, and

especially now I don't understand from where the HR data is coming???

from V2 or from Vahoo through Edge 1030.

And the bottom of the story I don't really care for the data, but I put an alarm to notify me when the HR jumps to 170 and I stop riding, taking a brake untill the HR comes back to below 110.

And then when I am resting down (maybe for 10 minutes or so) I started getting ALARM notifications about "abnormal HR and beets"...now here gets scary. Me 61, @ 33C and higher (the asphalt must be 60C) and I am somewhere nowhere out there, and running out with water...
