Why can't we get komoot on the Venu 2? When we see the price of this watch.. It's unbelievable..
Or is there any trick to get a turn by turn?

dwMap does its upcoming-turn and off-route notification calculations on-device, but the route itself is planned on-server and downloaded prior to the activity start…
I would also appreciate to see support for KOMOOT.
VENU 2 is supposed to have a processor from the ARM Cortex-M4 family.
Hard to find detailled specs about the other watches, which would make it easier to…
Komoot app is now supported on Venu :) You can download the Tours offline, you can see a mini-map with navigation instructions and upcoming elevation profile: https://newsroom.komoot.com/217964-komoot…

It was a big technical challenge, because these watches don't support downloading courses and don't have any navigation UI provided by Garmin. All these navigation screens are now provided by the Komoot app.
Thanks! So long time I was expected this!
Can you download the tours offline though? Reading this press release, for the Venu this seems to require you have your phone connected in order to navigate, so the watch app is just acting as controller/display for the Komoot app running on your phone? It's not all that clear though on that point, so perhaps I am misreading.

seems that you need to be connected to the app (or wifi) and be online when first time starting the watches app and downloading tours on the watch by marking them as "offline".
From then on you can load these offline maps without a phone or online connection.
The app seems to work nicely, looks splendid on the Venu2.
Yes, you can download the tours offline. You can imagine that it was quite a technological challenge
how? Why? Connect watch to phone, be online, mark tour as offline, wait 10sec. done.
I dont find it challenging and in comparison to other Komoot/Garmin apps quite easy and well working, even stable.
Venu and Vivoactive do not have an API to download tours / courses. They also don't have a native UI to navigate tours.
So you cannot use the same code to download tours like on Forerunner or Fenix, and as a developer you need to implement a custom navigation UI in your own app.
As a user it is very easy: I planned my tour in the Komoot app on my phone, synced it to the watch, marked it as offline and happily navigated and all is working fine.
i am not sure if you are looking from the programmers point of view, but as a user i can say I am positively surprised after I have tried Komoot apps on various Garmin devices and found it rather not useful - on the Venu2 this is different. The Venu 2 has moreover an excellent screen, makes using it a joy.
So, yes, this might be a challenge to implement for a programmer... but Komoot did it. and from a users perspective it works very well, and adds a huge value to the Venu2
I kinda get the impression that you somehow missed the point that TomasSlavicek is a Komoot dev.
nice to hear, read and see on my venu. congrat this is superb! today i tried app, and get error...just IQ tekst on display. good work anyway and keep going.
