Watch Frozen

I’ve had my Venu 2 for just over a week. Set it to track a bike ride today and it froze up (screen went black - none responsive) within a minute of starting. I didn’t have any music loaded or playing. Thanks to these comments I managed to restart the watch but disappointed it has gone wrong already. I presume this is a software fault?
