Hello Garmin community,
About ten days ago I looked into buying a Venu 2 directly from Garmin and saw a notification it would be something like four to six weeks before it shipped. I opted to not pull the trigger and then checked on Amazon; they listed the Venu 2 as being immediately available, so I placed an order with them. The order was shipped and I received it this last Wednesday (30-Jun), only to find an empty Garmin Venu 2 box inside the undamaged and untampered with Amazon shipping box. Annoying.
I contacted Amazon and after several go-arounds explaining to them the shipping box had not been opened which in turn pointed to the theft happening at or before the Garmin box got to their distribution center, they agreed to re-ship me a new Venu 2. Yeah, about that; same deal, the undamaged and untampered with Amazon box showed up yesterday (03-Jul) containing an empty Garmin Venu 2 box. After another long session with Amazon customer service, they agreed to refund my credit card and cancel the order.
Thinking I'd be better off simply waiting for Garmin to ship me a new Venu 2 directly, I returned to the Garmin web site and lo-and-behold, the shipping dates are now this week! I immediately pulled the trigger and hope to have my new tracker sometime next week. I'll keep y'all posted.
So, long story short, Amazon is apparently having an issue with internal theft of these trackers, so I would avoid ordering from them.
