Hydration does not synch properly with Connect

On my Venu 2 the hydration does not synch correctly with Mobile Connect on my phone.  This happens whether I enter the hydration on the watch or on the phone.  I am careful about the timing of synching so there should not be any problem, but there is.  Does anyone else have this going on?

  • And 2 months later Hydration is still not syncing properly with Connect.

I think it's because it's a 2 way sync - all the 1 way syncs eg steps, HR, sync properly.

    Hydration sync is a mess.

I prefer to update Hydration consumed on my Venu 2, as it's always with me and easy to do.

Unfortunately, getting it to appear in Connect is one issue - Connect shows the last timestamp and seems to retain it after many sync operations with the Venu 2, even though Hydration consumed has increased on the Venu 2.

What triggers Connect to update the Hydration level to a higher value on the Venu 2? If it's the device sync, it's not working.

I have ended the day with a lower consumed value in Connect than on my Venu 2. Currently the only way I can avoid this is to nput hydration consumed in Connect NOT on the Venu 2.  This must be a bug.

Another issue is the Venu 2 Hydration data doesn't reliably update when the aconnect value has increased.  Again this must be a bug.

I think Garmin need to do a complete design review of the 2 way hydration  sync , as I believe there are many issues/bugs.

  • It's 3-way actually. You can also update the Hydration data using the web application on your PC and then the data needs to be pushed to the mobile Connect app on the phone and the Hydration widget on the watch.  All these juggling is a feat perhaps only Google can do it right.
