Watch is completely dead?

I've had my Venu 2s for 5 weeks, done a lot with it and had no problems at all.

Today I started it to record a walk and after a few mins realised it wasn't on. No lights on the HR monitor and not being found by the app. It was on 58% battery when I started the walk.

Got home 2 hours later, tried the top button to re start it, nothing. Plugged it in to charge and again nothing!

I'll call Garmin first thing Monday as they are not open weekend but open to any ideas please!

  • Same thing happened to my watch. I returned it

  • Happened to my Venue today.  I've had it 5 weeks.  I was able to restart though, but lost all info on my 3.5 mile run.  If it happens again it's going back

  • I had basically the same thing happen to my Venu2, a couple of times. Mine happeed in the mornings, after I came out of DND mode from sleeping.  Watch went completely dead, couldn't push buttons, tried the 30 second "Button A" trick, tried putting it on the charger, tried connecting with the cable for Garmin express, watch completely disconnected and dead.  Left it for about an hour,, pushed the top button again to "give it one more chance" (I'd only had the watch for less than a week) and it restarted with the Garmin logo. Talked to Garmin, they said it was too new of a watch to see reports like this, and they wanted me to send it in.  I didn't want to be without a watch for that long, so I decided to keep it.  Then, the next day, it did it again, same pattern, same result.  I wound up returning it to REI and will wait and see if there's other reports such as this.

  • This happened to me as well.  Started to record a walk and then cut out and went dead 4 minutes into it. I have sent an email to customer support.

  • Hi, I bought my venu 2 on 11 Jun’21 and was going for a run this morning (14th Aug’21) and soon after found dead. I tried charging for hours and it doesn’t seems to be changing either.
I emailed Australia customer service and awaiting for a response…

  • Have you,, or anyone else actually sent the watch back to Garmin?  When I talked to them, they wanted to see the watch to figure out what was happening, but I didn't want to be without a watch of any type for that long.

  • Same thing happened to me twice and I just received replacement. It's running on stable firmware release. Garmin is very supportive in terms of replacing devices for defective units. I tried the below suggestion but it didn't work. I think after two hours later, I tried the same agan and it booted by showing garmin logo. I still sent the device back to Garmin and received replacement.

  • I received replacement Venu 2 from Garmin yesterday and I paired with Connect as usual. Software has been automatically updated to 3.51 and it didn't crash or dead during activity and during sleep. So far, it's working fine. I am using default watch face and default set of Garmin apps. No 3rd party apps except Stryd field.

  • Same happened to me today. Hold both buttons in for a few seconds. Fired up again !

  • Just curious. Is the replacement new watch or refurbished? I am not comfortable sending through the watch where I couldn’t check as detail as smartphone (ie, battery health etc).
