Pausing an activity for long time

Hi,

Is there a way to pause an activity and resume it later?

It would be especially useful when doing more relax hiking or bike rides with family, with lunch break, and get a single GPS track at the end. Right now, the screen remains active on the pause screen and always ask to finish the activity after few minutes; if you miss the warning, it's get saved. That's annoying.

Is it a feature that exists on flagship watches like the Fenix line?

Thanks,
Sebastien

  • I just submitted the form, here's what I wrote (anubody can copy/paste if they want):

I've submitted request too but asking to add that feature to all touchscreen devices like my Vivoactive 4, it's a mystery to me why Garmin didn't put that functionality to Venu 2 which is more expensive than FR245 for example.

  • As I understood, with software update 4.67 the paused activity timeout is now increased to 30 minutes: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/venu-2/271675/venu-2-2s-software-update---version-4-67

However there is not yet an option to change this value or to disable the timeout itself.

  • Hello

Is it really so that after 2 years of similar feedback there's no improvement to this matter? I have faced this really annoying problem on cross-country skiing workouts. You may imagine that with relatively bigger amount of clothes in Northern Finland in January you don't recognice when the watch is asking whether resume pause or close workout.

After several negative experiences with cutted workouts I nowadats keep pressing pause and resume, e.g. when having lunch break, just to make sure that workout won't stop. As a result the final complete workout report and other doesn't look very informative anymore.

Looking forward for any comments, especially for solutions.
