GPS Chip in Venu 2

Does anyone know if the GPS used in the Venu 2 is the same as the one used in the Venu? The one in the Venu has been nothing less than awful for me. If Venu 2 had promise that it might be better, I'd try it out. If not, there is no reason to move from Venu to Venu 2.

The GPS chipset is still Sony, though Garmin has implied in conversations it’s a very slightly updated version over what was in the original Venu.

I have the original Venu and the Venu 2. My experience has been the Venu 2 connects a little faster and, on the map in the Connect activity screen, it seems to show a tighter line, truer to the route I actually walked.
