The most important options which consume most battery yes! Always-on display, gestures, pulseOx etc! Or use battery saver mode!

  • What are Gestures ? Thanks.

  • The gesture is when you turn your wrist to look at the watch, and the face turns on.

Exactly. If everything is turned off you will only activate display via buttons, and I think touching the display hard. And of course this, + turning off PulseOX completely, will have a massive impact on your battery.

  • Can I turn off individual items like wifi and other activities and just choose the activities I want activated ?

Thanks for your time, much appreciated .

  • I don't see an option to turn off WiFi. Regarding activities, you can remove all those you don't use, but I don't think they usae battery unless you start them.

As  mentioned, always-on display and Pulse Ox will have a big effect on battery. Heart rate tracking should too. If you turn off too much though, you'll be left with a fitness tracker that you could have purchased for a fraction of the cost.

Yeah of course you can deinstall all activities not needed. I did it. I don't run and don't row and don't do winter sports nor golf. From the app itself you can't deinstall it and reinstall it. But I don't think it will use much battery. What uses more battery are outdoor activities with combined GPS satellites. You can turn that off with only selecting GPS f.e. And in settings it is already in intelligent GPS data mode which you can turn into each second for better GPS accuracy.

You can turn off phone connection, BT. I do that, but you can't turn off everything like BT, ANT, Wifi etc. I don't know why though. Another feature that is missing on some watches and there on others is airplane mode. I have no idea why this is a feature on the Fenix and FR which have better BL and not on the lifestyle watches. Maybe because Garmin thinks lifestyle watch users always have their watch connected? No, we don't Garmin!!!!

Wifi is only active when required .. like to sync activities or download music & audio content.
