Training Status across devices

I’m looking into buying an Edge 530 (for cycling) and a Venu 2 (for all other activities). The Edge has the Training Status Feature, the Venu does not...

Will my Training Status score still be updated based on activities logged with the Venu? Or will I have a score that is completely off, since only activities recorded with the Edge will be counted?

Thanks for any insights on this!

  • The Venu 2 has no raining status, so nothing recorded with the Venu 2 will update training status, only stuff recorded with Edge. Or do you mean something else?

  • That is exactly what I meant, thank you! I was hoping that the Venu would just not show the data, but that the Connect app or the Edge would still include activities in measurements.

Do you happen to know whether it’s also the case for Venu specific measures, such as Body Battery or Active Minutes? If I log a ride on my Edge, will that be reflected in those (via the app), or will both devices live in a sort of vacuum from each other?

No, it won't The edge does not support neither intensity minutes nor body battery. However, both of these should be reflected correctly as long as you wear your watch. You don't have to start an activity on your venu to get intensity minutes or body battery.

  • Fair enough, I forgot that just wearing the watch should tackle the measurements of some values: thanks!

Remains a shame that Garmin is dividing up its features among different products, instead of creating a good ecosystem, where they all tie in together. Well, I'm not the first one to complain about this I saw and likely won't be the last!

    Thanks for the help!

  • What is Edge ? Thanks.

  • Garmin’s line of cycling computers.

  • I had exact same question... found answer here.

Follow up question should be, if you did have a watch that has Training Status (F955) would it combine your various activities from watch and cycling computer into Training Status/Readiness? (I don't like to wear watch while riding due to wrist position etc).
