Potential bugs - Pulse OX and HIIT activities

Anyone else experienced the following?

1. Pulse Ox changing to all day tracking on its own.  Normally I keep Pulse Ox tracking off or just on during sleep, but a handful of times in the last week I've noticed that the mode has changed to all day tracking on its own.  I'm definitely not changing it to all day mistakenly.

2. HIIT activities not syncing back to Garmin Connect. I've tried two HIIT activities so far, both times collecting HR data from a Polar H10 strap.  The completed activities are available on the watch but do not sync with Garmin Connect.  If I try syncing the watch using Garmin Express desktop app I get an error indicating the FIT files are corrupt.

  • For what it's worth, I've never used the Pulse Ox glance, so that is at least not the only way that this problem occurs. It seems like mine may be coming on around 4pm pretty frequently (bedtime is set for sometime after 10pm for me). . .

  • Came looking to this forum if anyone else has this issue, I'm having Pulse Ox turn itself to All day tracking too. I've noticed that this happens after I have plugged in my watch to charge. I use a USB wall charger.
Normally my pulse ox is off to save battery but after charging, last few times I noticed that it is back on.
    I'm on Venu2, version 3.40

  • I found the pulse ox had switched after charging, so I thought maybe we were on to something. I then turned it back to "sleep only" and tried charging it. It did not switch back to all day mode. So, if it's related to charging, it's not reliably related, at least for me. Disappointed

  • Thank you for letting me know! We have a case on this. As soon as I have an update, I will post on this thread.

  • Hi all! Regarding the Pulse OX enabling on its own for all day, can you reply to this thread answering the following:

    • What is your do not disturb sleep window set to? Settings -> System -> Do Not Disturb
    • What is your normal pulse ox setting set to? Settings -> Wrist Heart Rate -> Pulse OX -> Tracking Mode
  • Answers to Amber's questions below. First, though, has anyone else with this issue also had their watch die overnight despite >30% charge? This has happened to me twice now, so I'm wondering whether it is a separate issue or not.

Do not disturb is "on" during sleep (I have never changed this setting).

I have set normal pulse ox both to "during sleep" and "never," and had it flip to "all day" from both settings.

  • Oh, I should also say that I have not yet had the pulse ox issue since the latest software update (but the crash happened after it--in fact I think the other time this happened was also after a software update, but not sure).

  • Do not disturb and Pulse Ox are both turned off for me.

I am fully updated and still experience the Pulse Ox bug, but not nearly as frequently anymore.  The last couple of times it happened it appeared to be related to the removal of the watch in some fashion --  maybe something with the sensors turning back on after removal?

  • Mine Venu 2 has only switched once since I upgraded to 3.40 (as I stated in my post on June-12th).  It has not automatically switched since then and my watch is currently on 3.48.

My Do Not Disturb setting is, and has been, set to "During Sleep"
My Pulse OX Tracking Mode is set to "During Sleep"

This is how my setting were when the watch would automatically switch the Pulse OX setting to  "All Day".  However, as I mentioned above, this has not happened to me since June-12th

  • DND is set to be on during Sleep. And my normal sleep window is set to 23:30 to 7:30, if that changes anything

Normal Pulse Ox setting is Off. Sometimes I do the Health Snapshot or a manual Pulse Ox reading.
