Activity on watch disappears however is still running in background

I record my cycling activity on my Venu 2 Plus for my bike ride to and from work. It has worked perfectly for the last few years.

Recently I have noticed that randomly a started activity is no longer visible on the screen, however I know the activity is running in the background because I still get Lap Time notifications. The only way I can stop the activity is by starting a new bike activity which forces a stop of the former background activity. I know this method works because I then get a notification on my Connect App advising that I have completed the ride home activity.

Any assistance would be appreciated in understanding why the activity is no longer visible during the activity.

  • I'm also experiencing this issue and would love a fix for it!

  • Is there any chance that you by accident swipe the screen to the right? It'll take you to main screen that way. Try swiping left once you have described issue.

  • I believe I may have found the problem. I recently installed Spotify via Garmin Connect. I only seemed to have the issue at night when riding home, that's because I was listening to Spotify on my phone (not the watch) at the time. This then seemed to randomly cause the issue where I could no longer see the activity.

I uninstalled Spotify via Garmin Connect which seems to have fixed the issue. It's also helped with a battery life issue I was having.
