How to stop LiveTrack?

I inadvertently triggered an Emergency Call with my Venu 2 Plus. Now LiveTrack is activated and I find no way to deactivate it. The red notification ball is showing on the Connect app, but if i try to open “LiveTrack (in Progress)” in Connect’s “Safety & Tracking” menu, it simply closes immediately. How can I deactivate LiveTrack?

Apparently LiveTrack can only be turned off from the smartwatch. I was unable to do so because the smartwatch display had dimmed to the point of unusability (see https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/venu-2-plus-964331130/359505/how-to-restore-normal-brightness). After charging the smartwatch to 100%, I was able to turn off LiveTrack on the watch.

P.S. I rejoiced too soon! According to the smartphone, LiveTrack is still running. ;-(

The answer (which has been published in some much older threads) was to uninstall and reinstall Connect mobile. What a PITA!
