Download successful?

I did a manual software update on my Venu 2 Plus.  I've discovered that if the battery drain seems excessive for a day or 2, it needs to do a software update. Afterwards, it sits on this screen.  I can hit a button and back out if it, but I'm left wondering if it installed the update? I rebooted the watch, and selected to search for a software update, and it appears to download the same update again.  Why does it not say "update successful" instead, our something to indicate it's done? How do you complete the update?

  • I've had this happen to me a lot. It seems to happen when no update is available too. It seems to be a bug with the update check. When an update actually is available it still updates correctly and says it's completed successfully.

  • The screen did show that it was downloading an update though.  It never said anything about an update being completed, only that the download was completed.

When there is no update available, I've seen it say something to that effect?

  • Yes that's what I've had, I've found no way to prevent it happening, it happens even when an official update isn't available, not sure why it does it.

When there is an official update available it does install it successfully.

  • I was getting the same issue as you were.

I plugged my watch into a PC and opened Garmin Express. Express told me I had two updates which were Release Notes and Steps Target. I installed both of them from Garmin Express. Now when I try and search for updates directly from the watch is says none are available and I don't get the Downloading message anymore.

  • That was a good idea.  I plugged my watch in to the computer also.  It didn't have any updates, but when I checked for a software update from the watch menu afterwards, it said simply "no update available." Maybe it did something.
