ECG limits on HR?

For those folks who have ECG enabled and using it have you run into an issue where it won't give you any data if your HR is 'too low'?  I ask because I got a free pixel watch 2 recently and the ECG doesn't work on that device if your HR at the time is under 50BPM.  Unfortunately my RHR ranges from 34 to 40 depending where I am in a training cycle and my just sitting at a desk working it's 42-44 BPM which pretty much renders the feature unavailable to me.

I've been holding onto my 6X for awhile waiting for a Fenix to drop with ECG or maybe the next Epix but before I get my hopes up I thought I'd ping you folks who have a functional ECG device to see if Garmin's is restricted in the same way.

  • According to Understanding Your Results | ECG App

HEART RATE TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW

If your heart rate is over 120 beats per minute (bpm) or under 50 bpm, the ECG app cannot check for AFib heart rhythms. In these cases, the  result will be inconclusive, and your heart rhythm could not be classified

  • Try recording a 2 minute trace and then examine it. Measure the distance between the R waves (the tallest spike) they should be constant or near enough. A characteristic of AF is an irregularly irregular pulse. The distance is not constant and has no pattern in its inconsistency. Your heart rate will be faster, from my own experience about twice but can be more.
