Venu 2 Plus Software Update - 15.20 ISSUE

Hi ,

I'd like to open this new thread about the issues of this firmware version. I have already seen the battery drain that you just closed, but this is not acceptable: I had the same problem on my old venu 2 where I opened an unresolved ticket << Ref: 24103806K1 >>; thanks to Amazon, I "replaced" the venue 2 with 2+ (because you/your support didn't consider the replacement (under warrinty=^) of the watch or part of it, and neither consider a battery calibration procedure.

however, those are my issues after the upgrade:

- BATTERY DRAIN: with regular use battery changes duration from 5/6 days to just 40h; I don't want to undermine my watch functionality like you suggested in the previous thread and TIPS, just because something is wrong on firmware; just fix it by your side, please.

- SWIM ACTIVITY: I'm unable to log interval stroke bpm, basically nothing in the activity.

- BIKE ACTIVITY: almost the same as swim, I can record the altitude, but not other GPS data like distances or map or speed.

I ask other guys on the forum to collect all the issues in this discussion and I'm sure that we are all available to help you to better understand and fix all.

Thanks,

Luca!

P.S. The watch is almost new, purchased just in May; so I expect good battery health overall. I have already done a reset and soft reset and I will not uninstall the few apps that were already installed also when the battery life is good. so, please, let's analyze all issues and release a firmware upgrade that fix all.

  • My Venu 2+ battery died over the weekend (I was away and didn't bring the charging cable): It was fully charged on Friday and fully dead in the middle of the night on Sunday. Maybe an hour or so of GPS tracking per day, nothing else that was unusual. Yes, on 15.20.

  • Thank you for your feedback. The ticket that was opened for you was still under investigation. However, as soon as you replaced your watch, the investigation was stopped. When third-party apps are downloaded and are requesting live data from the watch, the battery will drain much quickly. This was one of the main reasons for rapid battery drain on your original watch. We can look into opening another ticket to review the battery drainage. As far as the other disruptions, we'll need some additional information. Would you please reply to the last email I've sent to you, to investigate this further.

It may also be beneficial to speak to someone over the phone to discuss the 2 new disruptions. You can reach your local support team here.

  • Come on guys, if the previous version of firmware doesn't drain, why with updated firmare the reason of draining was the third-party app?? Furthermore I haven't so much app installed... Just a couple of watchface from garmin and battery graph to save battery data record!!!

Support always suggest to uninstall app or reset to factory...

Please let's open a new ticket to investigate on venu 2 plus for battery drain and for activity tracking... I lost almost a month of my swim activity!!!SobSobSob

    Help us and fix, thanks

  • I have the same problem. Before the software update the battery life was 7 days, now is 3 days

  • I wrote that I have the same problem with Veni 2 plus, but I had some time over the weekend and reset the watch. I lost a lot of time to install everything and set it up as usual, but it paid off, after 2 days, including 2 hours with GPS, I have 77%, so everything is back to normal

  • Hi guys,

Swim activity issue seems to be fixed after a sensor update received yesterday. Sensor version is now 25.82

This could be related?? Isn't it??

    Let's wait for battery drain!!!

  • I just hard reset my venu 2 plus and fully charged, without any third-party app installed.

    let's see

  • After just 8h, I'm already at 87% of battery!!Disappointed

If  and dev can't fix this quickly, I think I'll go back to Amazon and ask money back... And maybe never buy again other Garmin products!!!DisappointedDisappointedDisappointed

What did Garmin Support say when you called them? If you called, they should already have a support case open for you.

  • garmin support just said to send them the watch...they will check it in 15/20 days and probably send it back without any changes because everybody knows it is just a software issue.

I'm not a pro, but I don't want to stay without my Venu 2 Plus for 20 days for nothing.

I can just wait and hope for better firmware or ask to amazon replace or pay back... it's more quickly!!
