Picking up a call but still performing it with phone and connected earbuds

I am often using my phone with my Bluetooth earbuds listening to music. I also do my calls with the buds connected to my phone. With my old vivoactive 4 I could use the watch to see who calls and pick the call up - but still performing it via phone and connected buds.

But with the venu 2 plus now the call is automatically transferred to the watch and I haven't found a way to avoid this issue! For sure, the calling feature of this watch is a big progress. But in most of the cases I only want to use the watch (eg. when the smartphone is in my pocket) for looking who calls and picking up the call. But then I absolutely want to do the call via phone and earbuds.

Is there a way to prevent the Venu 2 from overtaking the call?

Thank you a lot for your answer!

  • I have the same issue - very annoying. Earbuds should take precedence over the watch.

  • Hello all,

We have other reports of this and are actively investigating.  When we know more or have any updates to share, I'll be posting to this thread.  Thank you in advance for your patience with us while we conduct this investigation.

  • Thank you, . I believe this issue is likely linked to the issue that when my phone is connected to the watch, the phone ringtone never rings anymore (the phone only buzzes; there is no sound).

  • Any update? I'm having this issue on my Venu 3 as well.

  • Same issue here,

also had a vivoactive 4. and during work i connect wired earbuds to my phone and pick up calls i got through the vivoactive 4. especially during trobleshooting issues this was a very comfortable way to work. keeping my hands free and not grabbing my phone anytime it rings.

to be honest with things like this, only showing the phonenumber when somebody is calling when it is not in you watch phonebook (no issue on the vivoactive 4 also), the issue of the musicplayer starting randomly and the poor support of bluetooth headphones (they only connect during the pairing setup, have to remove and add them again for use). it feels like i downgraded instead of upgrading.
