Heart rate monitor on threadmill vs Venu 2 plus

Hello,

I am having a venu2 plus. i recently joined the gym. I do a warmup on threadmill for about 6 minutes.

Between the HR sensor in watch and on the theradmill, there is too much of difference in the HR rate.

Threadmill HR is around 120 and my watch shows around 90.

I tried cleaning the sensor, wear it as snug, cleaned the aread on the hand where I am wearing. nothing helped.

Any suggestion?

Arun

  • Do you have tattoos on the wrist where you wear the watch? You can also try the other wrist for the workout. I have to switch mine from my right to left, when I do yoga, to get a mor accurate reading,

  • For tips and tricks see The Heart Rate Sensor on My Garmin Watch Is Not Accurate. If you continue to have issues please reach out to Product Support for assistance.

  • the wrist HR sensors are basically unusable / unreliable on any garmin watches at this point, due to an issue, where sometimes the wrist HR just goes off completely and stayed there reporting totally wrong values (with 30-40 beats/sec off).

adjusting a watch won't help in these cases, it just happens sometimes

the only one way to force the watch to reset is to remove from the wrist, wait for losing the HR and get back again. in this case after 1-2 minutes if will get back to the normal HR

even the newest top models suffer from this, so no worries it is not venu speciality

just think about your watch as it does not have a HR sensor for activities, that's all, and problem solved

  • I'm having a similar issue when using a fixed bike, my heart rate is around 160 as confirmed by my Fitbit, the bike, and my finger on my neck, but the watch is recording 120 max. Apparently you have to start an Activity for the heart rate monitor to record accurately. Very bizarre for such an expensive device when my Fitbit, which was miles cheaper, can do this easily without any errors.
