Display watch face while broadcasting HR?

Hi,

I am using Venu 2 Plus as a heart rate monitor while cycling. I turn on "Broadcast HR" at the beginning of a ride and everything works smoothly. HR is broadcasted to my bike computer (Garmin Edge 530) and I can see my heart rate on the Edge while riding a bike.

But if I raise my arm to see what time is it on the watch, I see heart rate screen. I can swipe to a watch face, but that is rather awkward during a ride, sometimes even potentially dangerous. Anyway, after certain time, HR screen is again on.

This way I have redundant HR info - on my watch and on the bike computer.

Important thing to mention is that I don't start activity on the watch. Activity is recorded via Edge. Watch is purely HR monitor at the time.

For instance, desired behaviour would be:

1. turn on broadcast HR

2. swipe to desired watch face

and it stays that way: HR is broadcasted and I see time in a glance if I want.

Broadcast HR means "I want to see my heart rate on some other device". So why is it displayed by default on the watch itself and cannot be changed, but only briefly with a cumbersome process while riding a bike?

It seems to me as a lack of software functionality.

So, is there a way, some setting, to set watch face as a default display while broadcasting HR?

Thanks!
