Best wireless earbuds for solid connectivity

I have a pair of original JayBird Vistas which are two and a half years old now. I've had continual drop-outs on the connection, both with my Venu 1 and now my Venu 2 Plus. Sure I've read on here in the past (although not been on the forum for a long time) that there's some wider issue here that others have experienced. Is that correct?

Buds tend to connect OK to begin with but then start to disconnect within half a mile, which is massively frustrating. Sound will then come and go for the rest of the run.

Can anyone recommend a pair for the Venu 2 Plus which are rock solid on connectivity? Liked the look of the Bose Sport but would happily sacrifice some audio quality just to be able to listen to music all the way through a run. Thanks.

  • I own the anker soundcore sport X10 since some weeks and I'm pretty satisfied. Sound is a little bit bassy but that's fine for me. Connection works fine with my venu 2 plus, Moto phone and lenovo tablet as well.

  • Personally like and use the Jabra Elite series.  Solid connection, good battery life, great sound, little pricey for the newest models, but past models are also very good and more economical.

  • Thanks for this. I'm also quite tempted now by the Sony WF1000 XM4s which are currently on sale here. Just don't know too much about their connection to the Venu 2 Plus.

  • Yea, Sony are solid for sound and should be good for connection.  Read some reviews before deciding as I believe Jabra are pretty much equal in sound quality/specs and usually at a better price.  Don't think you'd be disappointed with either.

  • I have both Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones and the WF-1000XM4 earbuds and they are superb...
Connection on the venu 2 plus is rock solid for both, no issue at all with them...

  • Thank you. Went ahead and got the XM4s last week and really happy with them. Connection to the Venu 2 Plus has been a little patchy on the first two runs, but changing the quality setting in the app and switching the watch from left hand to right seems to have remedied most issues. I'm not sure if there's some Bluetooth interference from my Garmin chest strap.

  • I used to run by a café and every time my earbuds would glitch out, same with certain areas within my apartment.  I think it's caused by interference from Wi-Fi, or some other electrical device.  It's probably not your chest strap as it should be connecting with ANT+.  Take note of where it happens and see if it's consistent with each run and if so, try adjusting your route and see if that fixes it.
