My venu 2 plus continually sends me Gmail notifications

It acts like my mail is coming in for the first time and the dinging is non stop. They are emails from earlier in the day that I've already seen. How do I make it stop without having to give up my email notifications entirely?

The notifications are coming through from Garmin Connect and your watch doesn't have control over them. Connect, in turn, is just reporting the notifications posted by Gmail. So I think if there's anything to be done, it would be in the Gmail settings somewhere.
