How do I view home screen while in an activity?

Can anyone tell me if you can view the home screen while in Walk/Run activity? I cant see any way to see the home screen for time or messages. Thanks

You can slide right to get home screen. Slide left on home screen you back to activity.

Is there any way to keep the display on the home screen until I slide it back to the activity?

It seems like when I slide right for the home screen, it only stays there for a few seconds before going back to the activity.

No, it won't stay on the home screen during an activity.
