Battery drain with 10.22 update

My Venu 2 Plus is experiencing battery drain at a very high rate since it updated to 10.22 firmware.  I used to get 7-8 days of battery life and now I'm getting 3 days or less.  In the last 24 hours, it has dropped from 75% to 33%!  I haven't changed anything other than updating the f/w.  I have tried restarting the watch, but that hasn't helped.  Is it possible that GPS turned itself on?  I've never used GPS tracking ever and I don't even know how to turn GPS on/off.

  • After the first post, I switched to a Garmin watch face.  Less than 8 hours later, the battery has dropped from 33% to 16%, with no activities other than checking the time and battery level once in a while.

  • I'm having the same problem with my Venu 2 Plus.  In fact, I just came to the forum to see if anyone else had the same problem.  Nothing was added or removed, no settings changed.  But after the 10.22 update, my battery went from 8 days to 3. 

    Is it possible to downgrade to the previous version?

  • Last night, I tried resetting the watch before I had to charge it.  I took it off the charger at 9:15 pm with 100% battery and set it on an end table.  This morning at 8:00 am, the battery has dropped to 83%.  That's just crazy.  Even my phone doesn't lose 17% battery overnight sitting on a table.

  • I suggest contacting Garmin Support. Mine is on 10.22 and battery life has not changed from the previous version. I have always-on enabled, and typically have at least one GPS activity per day. Including sleep tracking, mine uses about 30% per day.

  • I guess I'll have to do just that, because I had assumed that Garmin support monitored this forum.  Mine is now using more than 35% per day with always on disabled, no activities, and no sleep tracking.  Ridiculous!

  • I am having a similar issue with my Venu2 and has been the case since I purchased over a year ago.  I thought it was just the performance of the watch but see now it should be getting much more battery life.  I get less than 2 days after a full charge - feels like I'm always charging it.

  • warum kommt da nicht mal eine Stellungnahme oder Sonstiges von Garmin. Zum Beispiel, dass an einen update gearbeitet wird und hoffentlich danach alles besser wird...

  • After contacting Garmin support, they had me enable logging on my Venu 2 Plus for about a week.  I don't know what they may have found from the logging, but they ended up replacing my watch.  The new one has been performing as expected, with great battery life, even after it updated to 10.22 f/w.  So, problem solved!  Thank you, Garmin!

  • Same here, dropped 50% in 1 day after update to 10.22, usually get 8 days on a charge, is there any way to go back to previous version?
