Hi The estimated distance on my Venue 2 plus during a Treadmill workout is wildly off.

Is there a way for me to adjust this to be more accurate?

  • Hello !

Please see the steps below to calibrate a treadmill activity:

To record more accurate distances for your treadmill runs, you can calibrate the treadmill distance after you run at least 1.5 km (1 mi.) on a treadmill. If you use different treadmills, you can manually calibrate the treadmill distance on each treadmill or after each run.

    1. Start a treadmill activity (Starting an Activity).
    2. Run on the treadmill until your Venu® 2 Plus watch records at least 1.5 km (1 mi.).
    3. After you complete your run, press .
    4. Check the treadmill display for the distance traveled.
    5. Select an option:
      • To calibrate the first time, enter the treadmill distance on your watch.

      • To manually calibrate after the first-time calibration, swipe up, select Calibrate & Save, and enter the treadmill distance on your watch.

Please check out these tips as well:

    • Regularly recording an outdoor run using GPS will further calibrate the accelerometer for indoor run activities.

    • Do not hold onto a railing while running on a treadmill. This will result in improper distance measurement on the watch.

    • For interval training on a treadmill, it is recommended to also perform interval workouts outdoors using a GPS profile to record your workout. This will further calibrate the accelerometer for your indoor interval workouts.

  • Hello, I am having the same issue - I recently purchased this same watch for these functions but the treadmill is wildly inaccurate. Today on the treadmill I walked for 45min (using indoor walk) and my watch recorded not even 1km.

How can I calibrate it manually when its not recording up to the 1.5km distance - I would have to walk over an hour on the treadmill to reach this?

The other issue is that I keep getting pace notifications that there is no pace detected even though I am walking at 5km on the treadmill.

I have no issues on outdoor walks and it tracks/records accurately. I have used the same treadmill at home with my Apple Watch and never had any issues with it which makes this more frustrating.

    Can you please assist?

  • Both of these reports may be related if the distance is not being picked up accurately, the pace will also not be accurate. Please try the tips mentioned in the previous reply. If you continue to experience this disruption, please reach out to your local Garmin Support team.

  • Yes i have tried those tips numerous times... I will try contact locally but they are hard to get a hold of.
