Music starts after phonecall

When I sit in my car and listen to music from my phone via bluetooth, an incoming call appears.

The music mutes and the call is going on.

After ending the call, the Venu starts unintended playing music on its loudspeaker!

Several seconds later, the music from my phone unmutes and goes on playing on my cars radio. Like it should be.

Then I have to start the music app on my watch and pause/stop it.

This only happens on incoming calls. I´ve not determined this habit on outgoing calls.

  • Hello , thank you for reporting this. To best assist can you please provide the following:

    1. What is the make and model of the phone paired to your Venu 2 Plus?
    2. What Voice Assistant are you using (Siri, Bixby, Google)?
    3. Do we have permission to message you privately?
    4. Do we have permission to access your Garmin Connect account?
    5. What Country are you located in?

    Thank you!

  • Hi
thanks a lot for your reply!

    1. I´ve got a Google Pixel 6 - Android 12.
    2. The assistant is Google, as you now can imagine ;)
    3. Sure, you can hit me a pm.
    4. I´m not sure how it helps to solve this issue by accessing my account Thinking
    5. I am located in Germany

If I can give you more information or test something, please let me know!

  • I reported the Connect mobile data, as well as the Venu 2 Plus backup to Garmin,

But this habit still persists and happened again yesterday.

Any idea about the current state of this?

  • HI there Garmin-Sara!

I've also had this issue, twice in the last 3 months..  (So, it is extremely rare...)

    - listening to a podcast on my phone

    - Call comes in, and I answer..on the phone.

    - End the call, as usual, and my phone's podcast starts playing again

    - but also my Venu 2 plus starts to play one of the audio tracks on it, that I have downloaded.

I have an iPhone 12 (latest IOS), use Siri, and am in Australia.

The symtoms sound like they are the same as HerrRiebmann;s but my eco system is completely different.

Not sure this sheds any light on this, but hoping it helps to know it's not just one person..

    Regards

    Greg

  • Thank you. I have sent you an email to gather additional information.

  • It's still happening to me, every time I end the phone call, it doesn't matter if incoming or outgoing. I have a Samsung S10E.

  • This is also still happening to me.

It seems that the "old" cable bound Android Auto causes this. On newer versions over WiFi, it does not happen. Additionally to that, it also starts the watch music player, when having Pixel Buds or a JBL Flip 4 connected.

I´m using AIMP as music player on the phone. On both Android Auto or connected via bluetooth to my buds or speaker.

So to racap this: Connect an Android device to Android Auto via USB or connect it by bluetooth to an external speaker/headphone.
Play music from the phone on the car speaker. Then receive an incoming call and end it after a while.
Afterwards, the music player on the watch starts on its loudspeaker.

Using a Google Pixel 6 with Android 13 and AIMP as a music player.

  • Today I received an answer from Garmin.
Just more then a year later...

We're following up on the report we received that after starting a call while your Venu 2 Plus was connected to your phone, your call's audio would eventually transfer automatically to your watch or your phone without taking any action on your part to cause this. With the release of version 16.11 of the Venu 2 Plus system software, a new feature enabling you to disable your watch's call audio is now available on the watch itself. This feature is found on the device under Settings > Connectivity > Phone > Call Audio. If you're still experiencing the problem, please use this setting to disable your call audio function on your watch. Unfortunately, Garmin does not have the ability to control how call audio is routed on your phone as this is solely under the phone's operating system's control. If you only experience the issue while your watch is connected, disabling the call audio function of your watch should prevent the issue from recurring.

Which is a totally different problem. And it´s solution is to disable a feature, rather then make it work.
    Nice move, Garmin Joy

  • Today I used the Voice-Assistent by accident and canceld it.
The music on the watch starts immediately afterwards Astonished

I don´t know how hard it can be to store that the music player was actively started and only then resume it after calls or using the voice assistent.

And this got nothing to do how call audio is routed on my phone See no evil

  • This problem is happening to me too on Oppo Find N3 Flip.
I bought this device for Calling feature. But now, I've to disable it. what's a joke.

I think it shouldn't be called the solution.... hahaha.
