Garmin Pay - on the watch

I am writing this out of sheer frustration - apologies for the hard language

Garmin Pay on the watch - sure it should ask for the Pin if you happened  to remove the watch/sure it should ask for the pin every 24hrs - all fine

Just returned from local supper market - knowing how UNRELIABLE Garmin pay on my watch - I checked it before entering the shop, then I double checked it during the  shopping and all fine (no Pin request )  came to self-pay checkpoint, people behind me - like a hero I raised the L hand,  pressed the Garmin Pay button - guess what - Asked my pin, I actually got really annoyed

Got iphone out - used Apple pay

I have used Apple watch 100s and 100s of times - not a single time it had failed

What I noticed was - The watch was very slightly "loose" on the wrist ( when I checked before going to the supper market and during the shopping - it was reasonably firm on the wrist

(Obviously I was wearing the watch)

For God's sake Garmin fine tune your sensors - so your not so Smart watch knows that the user is wearing it - other wise its so frustrating at the till and it also fails the concept of Watch payment

With Apple watch - I was used to leaving my phone behind, bank cards behind jumped in the car and go shopping - now I have to take all that as a backup

Please for God's sake improve this watch and related software or whatever that requires - unless this watch is "screwed" to the wrist, any little movement or looseness - It is asking the Garmin pay pin again and again

  • And what´s the problem to enter the 4-digit pincode again?

Use Garmin Pay for several weeks straight (on vacation) and once every two weeks at home. Using my metal band, it sometimes looses the pin as you describe. With the rubber strap it works fine.

So it´s up to you, if you wear the watch loose and lost HR connection or a bit more tight and it will work as intended.

  • Thank you very much for your reply

I do wear it comfortably "tight" - as I said two times I checked it during the shopping - so it must have moved slightly or very slightly hence the watch "assumed" I have taken it out - I think this needs to be fine tuned, because very clearly it can detect my pulse - in other words I am wearing the watch

    Thanks friend
