Limited Size/Colour Options, Plastic Body

Hello. I’m kinda bigger than average; 1.87 cm, 92 kg and 19 cm wrists. So, larger watches suit better on me but i find the options so limited in terms of both size and colour. Fenix/Epix line is over my budget and also it beyonds my requirements as i only use my watch for weight training and general health/activity tracking.

I like Venu 2 series but they have only black and a weird blue option for 45 mm. I did like the grey colour of Venu 2 Plus but it is being produced only in 43 mm which is too small for me. I really don’t understand why the options are such limited and why we always be sentenced to purchase the black colour.

And also, making the watch body in steel should not be too hard and expensive. The plastic body adds a cheaper mood to the device and ruins the appereance especially when you want to use another strap in a different colour. I don't want you to make it titanium but it can have stainless steel body at least.

  • Garmin prefers to use metal body on more expensive special watches like Chronos and Marq...

  • Thank you Ferhad. Yes i know but i don't expect them to make the body from titanium. But at least stainless steel could be used, like Huawei does.

  • Those are their premium watches for Huıwei. But these are still non premium segment series from Garmin. But at least they can enlarge the line with some steel options.

  • Actually, the Venu 2 Plus is placed on the top of the fitness line of Garmin, so it is the premium option. Please don’t compare it to the Epix/Fenix line, those are much thicker and heavier watches targeted to completely different use cases (and those have plastic body also)

Also, the bezel here is metal also (AFAIK), and the plastic is high quality, and plays a big role in the small weight of the watch.

So, hardware wise, I would not complain at all (with having a Fenix). The only issue with the hardware is the atrociously rigid silicone band, but that can be replaced easily - still, it was a bad move from Garmin.

Software wise, yes, it is a joke, but that is true for all Garmin watches - limited functionality to push you to buy another watch, it is sad, really: it does have ABC sensors, but there are no glances to show them.

    REALLY GARMIN?

  • it does have ABC sensors, but there are no glances to show them.

    REALLY GARMIN?

... well, for me it is the biggest problem of Venu software .... hopefully they will change it in the next versions of the software. Greetings - Marcin.

  • Yes but having the body made of plastic ruins the harmony when you want to use a different coloured strap. However, all of the different colour combinations would suit the watch if it was made of stainless steel.

  • This is what i mean; only the bands in the shades of the same colour with the body suits the watch. Other colour combinations look weird due to the plastic clasps, like below.

  • Dear @Ryu ,

regarding the matching of the color of the belt in the case of the Venu 2 Plus gray ,

    I also had a problem .

    Due to the size ... rather the opposite ... I am 184 cm / 61 kg :) ,

but I wanted to change the color .

After many attempts , I chose ... black - leather and silicone ... fit quite decently .

Personally - I do not like black - but in this case it looks decent .

PS. Leather ones are quite short , so the original Garmin for You will probably be inappropriate .

However , replacements can be find .

    Best Greetings - Marcin .

  • Leather looks premium but not very comfortable. I wish they would make XL version of all models like X version of Fenix series.

  • Dear @Ryu ,

"Leather looks premium but not very comfortable" ....

full consent , I personally use a leather strap ... and the comfort of use is far from silicone ...

... but it is an alternative .

Regarding the size of the watch , I would also wish for a larger Venu 2 Plus .

However , Garmin will tell us , that the alternative is EPIX ...

... and in a way it is true , although it is a different price range .

    I Cordially Greet You - Marcin .
