Assistant and Phone Calls

Hi,

Are these working reliably for anyone? After the 8.12 update, Assistant acts like it's making a phone call whenever I activate it. It doesn't actually call anyone, it just looks like it's in a call. The function I asked for doesn't happen. 

When I want to use the phone, it doesn't work. The call either gets routed to my phone or doesn't get placed. It might work on the second or third try.  

These are nice to have, and I generally love my Garmin devices, but these features are trash on this device. They seem half-baked and like they weren't tested. 

I'd rather they not be there than be this bad on such an expensive watch.

    Hi,
    phone calls work fine.
    But Assistant stopped to work after update. It worked fine before. 

    At this moment
    - if phone is locked it doesnt accept any voice command and it reads me some notification which pop ups

    - if phone is unlocked it open assistants but it doesnt accept any voice commands and watch says that it cannot connect to assistant.

    Thanks for the response. Mine now work sometimes. I don't know what I'll get until I try using them. Unamused

    Does not work with Pixel 6. Evertime i get the message "Phone is not connected" or something else. Phone is connected of course.

    Did you try rebooting your phone? Same thing happened to my Pixel 3. Kept saying no phone connection no matter how many times I restarted the watch. Then I finally did reboot of phone and it started working again. Really annoying… seems to happen every couple days.

    I'm using a Pixel 6 Pro. I've used Pixels for several years and they always provide a terrible experience with Bluetooth connections.

    Yes, I tried. I restarted both. I even uninstalled Google updates.

    Still no assistant connection

    Yes i did to. No change. This is the last Update.

    Finally I solved the problem. 

    The issue with not working assistant was on Samsung S9. 

    I tried to reinstall Google, Garmin Connect, restarted watch, make watch factory reset -  nothing helped.

    Then I found out that assistant works fine with my watch and another Samung S9 and even S8.

    Solution - I reinstalled completely my Samsung S9 - factory reset and full re-installation. And now my Garmin Venu 2 Plus assistant is working fully fine.
