External HRM (Wahoo Tickr) Drop Continuously

I am able to pair my HRM without issue.  However, it the connection drops within 10 seconds consistently.  Has anyone else seen similar issues with either BLE or Ant+ pairing?  My internal HR sensor on the Venu is not showing accurately either which is the reason for pairing with an external sensor.   I was hoping to use it as a work around until I can figure out the native optical HRM issues.

    All external sensors disconnect unless you start a timed activity. So you cannot use a chest strap for 24/7 hr tracking.

    Ohhhh, well that would make sense based on what I'm seeing. Thank you for that information. Nowww, I need to figure out why the optical sensor is showing inaccurately when I'm NOT in a timed activity.  That was the basis for wanting to use the Wahoo HRM as it was reading REALLY low during non-recorded workouts.  Thanks again.

    Yes, I unfortunately discovered this today when trying to pair a Polar Verity Sense HRM to my Venu 2 Plus before doing a cardio workout.  The Polar Verity Sense can be paired via either ANT+ or BT, but regardless of which connection method is being used, it automatically disconnects from the Venu 2 Plus after 5-10 seconds or so.  There’s no mention in the manual that you have to start a timed activity to keep the external HRM connected to the Venu 2 Plus, and quite honestly this “feature” is both counterintuitive and a bit idiotic. At a minimum, there should be an option which allows the Venu 2 Plus to remain connected to an external HRM continuously.  There are individuals such as myself who simply want an external HRM to maintain a connection to a wearable as expected and really aren’t interested in structuring and logging their workouts with timed activities on the wearable.  

    The reason I want to use the Polar Verity Sense external HRM in the first place is that I’ve found the HRM sensor built into the Venu 2 Plus has very poor heart rate tracking when there’s any significant arm movement, e.g. using an elliptical, jogging, upper body strength training or HIIT.
