Jaybird vista not staying connected to venu 2 plus and no ability to change volume! can anyone help

I have tried multiple times to forget and repair but it still is not working.  Plays music for a few seconds at max volume but cannot reduce volume through watch and then it cuts out.  Very frustrating.  Any ideas
