Two significant bugs, an oversight, and a suggestion for improvement

Hi, so here we go:

-Bug one: If my music app (PowerAmp) on the phone (Xiaomi Redmi 10) is not KILLED in the RAM, when I invoke the Google Assistant music will start playing on PowerAmp, music controls will pop on the watch, and I won't be able to interact with the Assistant. Looks like there's an overlap/wires crossed somewhere... does not matter if my music source  on the watch is phone, watch or 3rd party service.

-Bug two: there's assymmetry, inconsistency and misalignment between apps/glances on the watch and on the Connect IQ Android app. No matter how many times I add favourites in Connect IQ (Run, Bike, Hike), they won't appear or will shortly disappear from my watch. Seems like once installed they self-uninstall. Same happens with apps, such as "Battery Widget" app. Also, women's health tracking glance keeps popping.

-Oversight: the loss of the "swipe right" shortcut is painful and has no explanation. It was ideal and now it's gone. I know we can short press center button for shortcut but why not allow two?

-Suggestion for improvement: the glances, say HR, Stress or BB are poorly designed in the sense that when swiping right TO EXIT the chart view, it will only take us back in time in the chart, forcing the user to get back to midnight so the glance will go away. If in the afternoon, no less than 4 or 5 swipe rights need to take place before we can exit that chart. You could let us go back to glances menu by just tapping on the value on top or alternately make the charts for the latest 4, 6, or 12h. Certainly, swiping all the way to the left to exit that chart view is annoying. If feasible, it would be great to have a static chart and ask the user if they want to see the latest 2h, 4h, 6h, 12h or 24h.

I hope that helped, regards.

  • The issue with the glances being changed is also a known bug on Venu 2/2S that they are working on.  Only add or remove them from the watch and they shouldn't reset, at least mine haven't and don't open them up in Connect or thats when they reset.

  • I confirm that the Glance/App misalignment on the Venu 2 Plus is pretty annoying, especially after you took time to organize them and that it all get reset because you tried to install a new Glance/App.

I also noticed that some apps shows only in the Glance list on Garmin Express, only in the App list on the Watch, and on both Glance & App lists in Garmin Connect. (e.g. with the APICall widget I installed and tested)

Hope it can be fixed soon.

  • I also miss the swipe-right gesture from the watch face. It's easier for me than the button, especially because I wear the watch on my right wrist.

The swipe-right on a scrolling glance is a bit of a pain, but you can get back by tapping the bottom button.
