Will Sleep Alignment feature come to the Index Sleep Monitor?

Hi,

Have a Fenix 7, and thinking about getting  the Index Sleep Monitor for multiple reasons. Also considering getting the Polar Loop for sleep monitoring maybe.

When I saw a video about the Venu 4, getting Sleep Alignment. I love my F7 over Polar watches (altough I do like them, they have too many issues fir me)

One main reason to look at Polar is the Sleepwise feature, which Garmin is now introducing to Venu 4 and other new devices

I know Garmin has dropped for new features for F7 (which i am unhappy about, but not going to start that discussion here)

However, I can't  imagine to your main sleep tracker, just released, this feature won't  be added?

I am not yet ready to upgrade watch, and have done the venu to fenix upgrade more often, to realize that the Fenix series is my main go to

I like the new Fenix 8 pro, however at 1000 to 1200(!) dollars about, not getting that now (especially how Garmin dropped updates for F7)

So, the Index Sleep Monitor is a good addition for me, but not when I feel yet again  will be feature chasing after just buying something new

I saw Health Status came to Garmin Connect, and works with F7, so if getting the Index Sleep Monitor would make sense to have the feature in Garmin connect? I dont need the app for it in the watch

Tbh if this feature doesnt come, it makes less and less sense to stay Garmin customer, what with the price  hikes and everything going on

I hope Garmin really pays attention to the growing discontent among users with  the recent course.

  • Update:

After posting this, found the Rise: Sleeping App, which basically does what I want, what with rhythms etc

It can pull the sleep data from Garmin, thank you Garmin for your API. Otherwise could always enter it manyally in the app.

Which, with Sleepwise, can enter it manually to get the data for Sleepboost and rhythm and stuff. However that is another chore, and if can do automatically the better. Cant import sleep data into Polar Flow.

The Rise app looks interesting, and at 40€ a year about 1/4 of the price of the Garmin Index Sleep Monitor (which would be 4 years of app use, for 1 Index Sleep Monitor, which is decent trade odd in my eyes)

The only thing missing is nightly temperature  then ( which sadly the polar loop doesnt  do), at the same time there is questions about its accuracy(?), but in any case if I really want my temp can always use thermometer...

I am even wondering if this app, featurewise, is better and more accurate than the Garmin Sleep Alignment feature.

So, rhere you go Garmin: we were going  to buy multiple Index Sleep Monitors, but instead went with the competition, with a better and cheaper alternative. So, you just lost customers for a product, that were willing to buy it, and tbh would have preferred buying the Garmin solution maybe. Dont  mean that spiteful, but concern with some of the direction Garmin is going.

Many of us love Garmin, and they do many things right, so if there is stuff off track, hope you get back on track. Which best coaches are on the sideline right

  • Could not agree more with your sentiments. I wish I’d never bought the ISM. I made the mistake of going past the 30 day return window thinking there would be loads of updates initially being a new device, BIG mistake. I myself was a big fan of Garmin, no more, for the same reasons you say. I used to religiously upgrade my device to the latest models, but once my Epix Pro wears out, I’m done with Garmin….
