Index Sleep - No body battery

I recently got an Index Sleep Monitor, and while it records a lot of things, body battery is not one of them.
As soon as I remove my Venu 2 Plus, body battery stops being reported, and it only shows up again once I put it on. I had not switched off my watch, just left it.

As you can see the body battery is being picked up again after I put on my watch.

All my devices report being completely up-to-date.

My watch is a Venu 2 Plus - is one overriding the other somehow?

The workaround as I found in some other posts doesn't work.

  • Last night I actually powered off my Venu 2 and put on my ISM.

In garmin connect app I saw it switch to the index sleep. Heartrate etc , but no body battery. Got up this morning, let it sync, and then powered on my watch. Still no BB.

  • Same issue here.  No BB this morning, which is odd since the BB had been populating regularly up until last night.  Also of interest is the skin temp did not record either.

  • Not sure if this is relevant or not but I took my ISM off at 5am and went for a workout.  I noticed when I came back from my workout the ISM was still connected to GC.  The ISM did not disconnect from GC until 832am.  A full 3hr32mins after I took the ISM off.

This makes me wonder if the BB was not updated because the ISM did not know the ISM had been taken off and was still doing whatever calculations it does.  Even though the ISM had been taken off at 5am and sync'd with GC.

Note, I do not leave GC connected to the ISM when sleeping.  My phone is turned off and the ISM sync's only in the am when I take the ISM off and turn on my phone.

  • I Contacted support because even after a week i get no bb.

According to the rude and very unhelpful person, who was not going to go even remotely outside his script, it is because my watch does not support BB true-up.

This doesn't even make sense to me. I don't want this data to sync to my watch, I just want it visible in GC.

  • BB seems to be back for me now.  Not sure what the hiccup was.  BB is reporting properly, skin temp. is reporting as it should  Everything seems to be working again.  The only thing I changed is that I now have a bit more patience after taking the ISM off in the morning.  I let it sync for a min or three before turning bluetooth on on my Forerunner 265.  I then let the 265 synch for a min or two before checking my morning report.

Not such a big deal for me.  I let everything sync up while getting ready to head to the gym in the morning.  So there is no real delay in my day.
