New Health Status feature

Will the sleep index generate the info for this or do I need to wear my Fenix 8 for it to populate?

  • Hello!

My Apologies, I read a document incorrectly.

The support for the Health Status feature is not compatible with the Index Sleep Monitor as of yet. The Venu 4 is the only device that is currently compatible, with several other devices in beta.

  • Thanks for the reply @Garmin-Tracy. Not sure how long the OP has been using the devices together. My Fenix 7 Pro battery was getting low a while back so I put it into battery savings mode and turned off Pulse Ox. This was the September 9. Then on the 12th I turned it back on. I started wearing the ISM on September 13 and have been tracking sleep with it since. Every night/day since then I've collected all the data (between my Fenix 7 Pro and the ISM) so I'd expect the have Health Status by now. October 4 was three weeks... Should I do anything now or just wait longer?

  • 19 days since the health status has hit Garmin connect then? Ive been using the ISM since launch.

  •  Thank you for the reply.  My concern is the ISM does not appear to register with the health status feature.

When wearing my Forerunner 265 and no ISM while sleeping I am told:  "All your metrics are in range".  So Garmin Connect recognizes that I wore a device to bed.

When wearing the ISM I am told "No data available.  Wear your device while sleeping to reveal your metrics".

The thing is, I am wearing my device while sleeping.  I am wearing the ISM and not my Forerunner.  The ISM does not appear to be included in the devices that gather information for the Health Status Feature.  And wearing the ISM and Forerunner together is not really an option since I bought the ISM to replace wearing the Forerunner while sleeping.

    Thank  you.

  • why can’t this feature use over a year of history from my compatible device? Or in case of the ISM, months of history for some users?

  • Interesting, I always switched off my watch during the night while wearing the ISM, resulting in empty data fields under the “Health Status Beta” section even though all required data was correctly synchronized to GC. Tonight I will give it a try, leaving the watch on placing it off body and wearing the ISM as a was used to.

  • Thank you for the explanation . I will keep my eye out for an update the incorporates the ISM into the health status feature.

  • I have some additional information to add to this thread. I reached out to Garmin technical support at the beginning of this and heard back a couple times. From their technical support team via email yesterday:

"I think that there is a combination of issues going on. The Fenix 7 will allow for health status but only in the connect app not on the watch. However, I think that there is a bug or issue that since you are wearing the index monitor then its showing you the "no data". I don't think that this is by design. I am working on getting some clarifying information. However, I do think that if you were to wear the watch to sleep, then you'd be able to see your health status. Once I know more, i will update you with what i find out."

This sounds like an issue when connecting the watch, ISM, and GC together to fetch the required data. We know the pieces are present, but the system isn't able to gather it together to deliver the health status to wherever it needs to be.

  • Thanks . That makes sense.  I think it is a bug because if I wear my Forerunner 265 I will get health data.  The ISM though reports no data.  As the feature is still in beta I hope Garmin addresses the problem.

  • Just a short update on this: The fix suggested by Oldpaps doesn’t work. The only way to get the relevant data for Health Status into GC is by wearing the watch instead of the ISM during the night.
