No sleep detected

Tonight, I saw no sleep data. I only had the sleep monitor on my arm. Weirdly .. I had some increase in body battery, stress level was recorded for the whole night, and pulsOx data were also recorded. I tried syncing couple times but the sleep data never showed up.

Any idea what was wrong?

Thanks!

Best,

M

  • I got the same issue. For the past few nights no sleep data was recorded. Garmin Connect says I need to wear the device, but the device recorded overnight heart rate, pulseOx information, so the app should know I wore the device.

I tried strapping it tighter, same result. I tried letting it a bit lose, but it falls of and according to the implementation, it stops tracking. I would return it, but I'm out of the 30-day return window and now I feel this device is turning into a glorified paperweight.

  • I opened a support case with Garmin they never did anything with it. They never got back to me so i returned mine, total dumpster fire.

  • Yeah, "happy" to hear that. Looks like we just wasted 170 euros.

  • Hey ,

Did this experience improve for any of you?

My issues with sync and certain metrics missing have disappeared following the last firmware update and consistant use of the device followed by the recommended guidance (ie: leaving it face up during the day, waking it up with my finger before wearing it, ensure the sensor is clean and has the plastic film removed, ensuring the sensor is on the outside of my arm with the plastic clip on top of my bicep, etc).

  • I never had any sync issues. Heart rate, pulse ox and body battery synced every morning. My problem is that it says no sleep detected and it doesn't show nay of the data i truly want like overnight HRV which is the most important recovery metric i care about. I do think the issue comes from Garmin's see sleep algorithm which is significantly worse and imprecise than competition (aka Appke Watch, Oura, Whoop).

  • Hi everyone,

This is still happening to me. Just had 2 nights (in the last week) without HRV and sleep data. But those nights have HR data a PulsOx data, so it's not like the sensor does not work. Just some data are not processed or synced properly.

  • I got no sleep data last night. Earlier nights I'm getting it saying that I'm asleep the instant I put the ISM on, even if I do it standing up, go brush my teeth, etc, before bed. I then have to manually edit the sleep times. I'm feeling like the current iteration of this product is still "prototype-y" and I'm used to a much more polished product from Garmin.  I think mine's headed back to Amazon tomorrow.
