Index sleep monitor stuck at firmware 3.23

As in subject. I have fresh out of the box sleep monitor and I'm trying to update the firmware using Connect app for Android.

It sometimes says 'sending software upfdate' which is visible for 10 minutes or so with progress bar that is not moving. Going to system->about shows firmware 3.23, same as connect for web which claims that this is up to date version despite 3.60 being available on this forum. I don't have a computer that can run Windows anymore to try Connect for Windows.

How can I force the update?

  • You can't without Garmin Express. It will update eventually via the App. Try putting the ISM on charge with your phone in range with the App running. Make sure the ISM is awake & connected then leave it for a while. Might speed things up a bit....

  • I am seeing the same issue with not getting SW updates.  I switch on USB file access and connected to my Mac.  But Garmin Express will not find it when I select Add a Device.  I was prompted by the OS to allow the ISM to connect and selected Allow.  The same cable works with my I3 Solar.  I only want the FW update from Express so I have not tried Android File Manager or anything access the device directly yet.

Solution: Doing a factory reset and immediately turning on USB File Access after setup seems to have worked.  It now shows in Express on my Mac.

Update occurred.  You need to unplug the ISM and let the update run before it will show new version in Express.

  • I had a similar issue on my Mac. It was very temperamental getting it added but eventually it found it. I had to disconnect/reconnect a few times before it did. After that it worked as expected.
