Impossible to 'connect'

Is this issue still really going on from post from 3 years ago, Ive spent 3 hours trying all different ways to try and connect this stupid machine to my Garmin Connect. It finds it, you get the code then it fails to connect. 

I've disabled bluetooth and let the Garmin app able it, restarted phone, app, bluetooth, deleted other devices.  But it just wont do it and Ive tried 3 different devices.  Any solutions anyone please?

This thing is literally a paperweight until it connects. Dumbest thing Garmin have ever made.

If I hadn't literally just paid for it, id be throwing it off a cliff. Slight smile

  • Hello - Could you please describe  what happens when it fails? Is there a specific error code or message in the app? How does the scale behave when it fails? Is there a pattern of symbols it goes through or?

  • No error codes. This is in the set up process, straight from the box. Add device to Garmin Connect. Bluetooth finds it. You get to add a code, then it supposed to run a set up. But it just says set up failed try again. Same every single time.

  • does the scale display cycle through and show the triangle image every time you try? are you pairing with an Android or iPhone?

  • It has flashing bluetooth symbol. Scale pic and arrow pointing to Garmin Connect logo.  If it doesnt work. I press reset on the back, the triangle reappears, then it goes to scale and app pic. Tried pairing with Android, Iphone and Ipad. Same every time. Prob just going to take it back, seems like there are tons of issues with this scale anyway. Should have read the forums first I guess.

  • Came here for exactly this issue - using an S25 Ultra & using other Garmin products paired with no problems, fan of garmin products so thought i'd treat myself... unboxed brand new scale, pretty!, batteries in, turn it on, open connect, add device, automatically detects scale - connect, enter PIN, Pairing Failed / setup was not successful.

    Dozens of reboots of phone, resets/hard resets of scales, unpairing from phone, clearing cache, reinstalling app & a failed attempt to use Garmin Express on Windows, same scenario.

    Also changed my wifi from 5ghz to 2.4ghz (as many 'smart' devices dislike 5ghz) incase that was causing it to fail during setup.

    Also dug my old S9+ out of a drawer and set it up, still exactly the same scenario.

    When connected the scale shows the sync arrows to show its doing something, but regardless fails the same way every time.

    Googling the device, I see tons of issues dating back years...time to box it up & get a refund.

  • Agreed, amazed I've been glancing at this for awhile wincing at the price tag as I already had a serviceable scale... if this is the price Garmin charges for broken products, my watch & bike GPS unit are due refreshing so I'll be going elsewhere for that, time for an ecosystem change.

  • O my gosh I have spent a whole day trying to set this product up! I have reset it about 6 times! I'm back and forward re entering my wi-fi details! And it says successful but then nothings working! Just get the feet with a question mark! Gives a brief wait then a triangle then a timer symbol and disappears then nothing!!! This is just impossible! No one available on chat! And Garmin online help is rubbish! There manual is just sending me round in circles!! If I can't get it sorted today I'm just going to send it back!!!

  • Do you have a subscription to an online service, which needs the data from the Garmin Scale ?

    1. Hi yes I have a Garmin watch and Garmin connect watch. I'm in the UK and use sky subscription for my wi-fi and I have tried to follow their manual you tube videos and now this forum! It shouldn't be this difficult! It tells me it's successfully set up yet just goes back to feet with a question mark!!! My stress levels on my app are showing high and it's because of these flipping scales!!!!
