I’ve had the scales since later January. Should I request refund for new one? Tried to reset but no luck. There’s no on/off switch so I removed the batteries and ordered new batteries.

If swapping out for fresh batteries and resetting the scale doesn't fix this, then contact Garmin Support directly to report the issue.
I took the batteries out and put the same batteries back in and it’s fine. Doesn’t fill me with confidence regarding the long term reliability of this product.
Same thing happened to my scale about a year ago. Swapped out the batteries. Been fine ever since.
Thanks. Interesting lack of engagement / support from GARMIN. very dissapointing.

I did contact them since the purchase was made directly from them. I’ve received no reply at all.
I'd use the call or chat options. Depends on your country and time-of-day.
In all my interactions I've received immediate support. I like using chat, as you have a transcript of the discussion.
