Body fat % terribly inaccurate

I bought this scale because it was said to be the closest thing to an actual DEXA scan. However, both my partner & I got wildly inaccurate body fat percentages during our first usage. I of course have no idea how accurate the bone or muscle mass numbers are. Weight, at least, seems correct. I already had an accurate scale for body weight, though. I was hoping for something a bit more useful, meaningful, and accurate, for the price.
Are the scale's body fat, bone mass, and muscle mass calculations based on anything real? I was hoping to use it as a measure of how healthfully I am aging, but now it looks like it can't be trusted.
