WiFi Connection Woes After Sync Around 24h Prior; Network Technicians or Those Familiar w/ How to Detect When Device Falls Off Network?

After using the S2 scale since early June, I have been running into repeated occasions when the scale is unable to connect to my wireless network. Thus, I must remove and then re-add the scale.

Garmin support appears to suggest that the scale should be replaced.

Do we have any computer network technicians or someone familiar with how to monitor a device's connectivity in the forum?

As a side note, I have not found a way to force upload of previously recorded weight(s) that have yet to be recorded to the Garmin Connect Database. I must re-weigh to record my weight in the cloud.

  • Simplest method, as it does not require any extra networking tools or apps, is to open the web page for your router. You can look at attached devices. The scale will show up with a MAC address prefix of F0:99:19 which is associated with Garmin. You might see it with the prefix "WINC-00-00."

You'll need to weigh yourself so there is some network traffic between the router and the scale, then go refresh the connected devices page on your router and it should show up, assuming everything is working as it should.

Nonetheless, I suggest taking Garmin up on their offer to replace the scale.
