After SW 3.00 - No Networks Found / Invalid Password / Blinking WiFi icon + Red X when syncing -PART 2

has just been locked, I am reopening the topic here. 

Garmin has just released FW version 3.11 for the scale.

I don't know if anyone from Garmin has read through the original thread. Den. I am wondering how to install the new FW.

Yes, I read through the support article that was just released.

All I can say to that is. Bad luck.

Garmin, there are now 2 options :

1) You offer a way to update the scale WITHOUT wifi connection,

Or

2) You exchange my scale.

The new support article only says that the scale cannot connect to "certain" Wifi networks.

This is completely wrong, at least in my case.

I think I have expressed myself clearly enough in the original thread.

My scale currently does NOT connect to ANY wifi network. No matter what settings and no matter what frequencies.

Thanks for the update on the software.

Now you still need to find a way to get this onto my scale !

    Then I will return the almost 2 year old scale to Garmin. Of course against refund of the full purchase price.

    No, it doesn't work with the new firmware either. As soon as you go back from tethering to the old WLAN, it no longer works.

    If you switch back to the hotspot, the Index S2 synchronizes again. Back to the old WiFi and again it doesn't work.

    I went thru these instructions several times without success. I’ve tried the manual install software option many times as well but the initial screen always shows the current SW version is still 3.00. Not sure how you can actually update to 3.11 to see if that really fixes the problem. Has anyone actually been able to update to 3.11 and did that fix the issue.

    I was finally able to get the software to manually update per the instructions of removing the battery, etc. and connecting the Wi-Fi thru my iPhone’s hotspot. The scale is now working correctly again.

    This methofe is not available to me. To clarify again :

    the option "maximum compatibility" was introduced only from iphone 12 and higher.

    I own an iPhone 10r. (Xr). There this option is not available.

    Nevertheless, I have tried it x times.

    All devices can connect to my iPhone hotspot.

    The Scale 2, however, not.

    Update via hotspot worked, data exchange via hotspot worked. Synchronization via the WLAN of the Fritzbox still does not work, I always have to switch on the hotspot of the mobile phone to exchange data.

    I'm sending my Garmin Index S2 back at the end of the week. Life too short...

    That explains why I couldn’t find the “maximize compatibility” option.

    As I know, maximize compatibility on iphone 12 and later devices means, you set the default 5ghz back to 2.4. On iphone 11, and earlier versions the 2.4ghz was the default, and that's why there's no such option.

    So the advice to set it to 2.4ghz maybe useful who didn't read through the previous thread and didn't try it, but for those who tried it and it didn't work, it's completely useless
