ok, so we can now roughly tell the scales what body fat % to "measure"
however mine are telling me i have 5.1kg bone mass and i've seen others give similar numbers here.
i don't think anybody has that much bone mass, letalone a 73kg 46 year old man given that bone mass decreases with age - what gives?
google returns plenty of research indicating a typical bone mass range of 2.5-3.5kg for males, slightly less for females, lower for lighter people and older people.
the theory was that garmin use population statistics to determine body composition but that approach would at least avoid giving anyone completely impossible results like this. i now think they're just random number generators.
if i believed there was any representation of the truth in this "measurement" i would be running to the doctors worried i had some serious disorder
what are other people seeing for bone mass?
my full stats:
