Fat % increased more than 10% in 1 week

I know there are more threads about fat %. Still not the same problem in many cases. Hence my finding. I had the Garmin Index (1) for years. Great because I never could and never wanted to compare. I think trends are more important. Now I have the Garmin S2 Index. There are measurement differences. OK, but fat percentage in 1 week + 10.6%!? OMG Scream !?! I have a marathon in 2 weeksJoy. @Garmin, seriously now? What is wrong? Or is the S2 correct and the Index(1) incorrect? Reading the other threads, the measurements seem inaccurate. Are you working on it or is   Garmin the Index S2 as it is? Please let me know.

If I need to reset something let me know but my family is also complaining and ask me to buy something else than a Garmin Smart Scale.

OEPS!!!

  • It has been almost two years. It obvious that Garmin isn't doing anything to address this issue. Garmin continues to sell Index S2 even though it knows very well that the main feature of this scale just plainly doesn't work for a lot of people.

But when S3 is released Garmin will gladly take our money for the updated version that will may be have the fix.

  • That is very unfortunate. Because of my good experience with the S1, Garmin Edge and many Garmin watches, I assumed that Garmin had made a working product. So wrong?! I should have looked into it to see these notifications.

I'll have to wait a bit because I made it an official support notification. Otherwise, the Index S2 Smart Scale goes back, I have to look for something else and would advise not to buy this. It's useless like this. But it would be a big disappointment to treat its customers like this. I'm not used to that from Garmin. I still do hope it can be fixed with firmware and some help from Garmin. But ok, I see nothing happens @garmin. No updates, or beta's or reactions..... Worried

I like the ecosystem including these measurements. But in case Garmin is not fixing this, is there another excellent smart scale that is able to upload it to Garmin Connect?

  • Looks like we're forced to use these Garmin scales if we want to integrate with Garmin Connect. My scale is about 4 days old, yesterday's body fat % reading was 24.5% and today it's 17.2%.

  • Congrats on your fat loss Slight smile

  • Are there any other smart scales that integrate directly with Garmin Connect??

  • Not directly. However, it is possible to integrate some other smart scales such as Withings indirectly using the MyFitnessPal app which can act as a synchronization bridge. I have a Withings Body+ scale and the weight measurement works well, but body fat measurement is garbage with values significantly different from a DEXA scan and large variations from day to day.
