The ignorance of the S2's problems by Garmin is appalling.
My opinion and my experience with the S2? Plus on suggestions for improvement?
TLDR: If you want the weight integrated into the GC, you have…
Well don’t buy the S2 then. Here’s my day to day readings from the S2. 24% down to 17% overnight. My body fat is actually 14%.
Don’t do it, it’s a product that doesn’t work as intended. It does weight well but every other measurement is poor and not accurate. Garmin has said they will fix it but has done nothing…
That's the problem... if you read into anything too much, it'll will put you off buying anything! Reason being, many people complain of what's not good rather than what is... and so there'll be more negative views than positive.
There were are valid points regarding the Garmin S2, to which I appreciated and took on board. There are some serious reviewers out there with incredible knowledge.
But I was always waiting for the Withings Body Scan to be honest. And it's good, really good.
ShahidMiah When on the net I always try to find users with no actual experience with a product or service, like Former Member with the Withings, yet they have strong opinions based on unnamed and uncited sources. That's the internet sweet spot for making the best decisions.
Thanks. Was considering the S2 and am now convinced it's not worth the money, sort of like the HRM pro.
I don't think we should expect a very precise measurements from floor scales. I guess this scales do the best possible measurement which is technologically possible in this form factor.
What we pay for is a nice quality, infrastructure and algorithms - in order to get more realistic measurement you should put medical grade measurement in Connect app (Index S2 settings). In this case Index scales can track changes pretty accurate.
So i don't expect new model will come soon - can't imagine enough hardware features at this time which could be added to current model to release a next gen
