First generation scale that I bought some 5 years ago have always been a total joke when it comes to bodyfat and other metrics. Weight is also around 1 kg off. I thought that Garmin at least should have been fixing some of this with the new one but it is actually the other way around. I bought the S2 and tested them side by side. Wight differs at least 1 kg between them with the S2 slightly closer to reality. Bodyfat in the original 7 % and that is to low but S2 is showing more than 21% so 300% higher! That is absolutely not even close to reality. They claim they have added more sensors for higher accuracy but it is still mostly based on calculations of age/weight and height. Other problem is that if my children step up and not having a profile my profile will be synced with their weights, even though it differs 30 +kg. It is not possible to gain/loose that much in a few minutes so why not check that before sending it to Connect and messing up all other sites using this data? I am seriously considering moving to other brands for clock and scale since this just shows how little Garmin cares about their customers.
