Is the scale supposed to turn on when I step on it?

Is this not how the S2 works? If I just step on it stays dark, but if I move it slightly it turns on.

But then it shows me the weather, even though I disabled that, it does not recognize me even though the setup is complete an the Wifi connection test was positive.

Ok turns out the other stuff happend because a friend was the first to step on it, so the scale thought she is me and didn't recognize me after that, had to reset it. Not turning on when stepping on it is unusual though.

I have found the most effective is to tap it. Should then turn on. Wait until the pair of feet appear in the centre, and then step on.

I don't quite understand how a good scale should work, either.
When I stand on my scale, it takes about 5-7 seconds for it to show the weight.
Is that normal?
