Index S2 no WiFi networks found after FW update

Received my Index S2 today and was able to set it up on my WiFi network using the Garmin Connect app out-of-the-box. When setup completed, the Index S2 started a firmware update automatically over WiFi (so WiFi has worked). After the FW update completed, the scale could no longer connect to WiFi. When searching for WiFi networks in the Garmin Connect app, no networks are found.

I rerun the setup of the scale by factory resetting it by holding reset button until the red cog icon shows. The Garmin Connect App on my phone finds the scale and I can start the setup process, however when I get to the WiFi network configuration, no networks are found. I also tried the same setup procedure using Garmin Express on my MacBook with an Ant dongle. Again I am able to find the scale, start setup, but no WiFi networks are detected. When searching for WiFi networks (either via Garmin Connect or Garmin Express), I do see the WiFi on the Index S2 flashing a couple of times, so something is happening...

Anybody had a similar issue and was able to solve it? It appears that the FW update broke / change something preventing a WiFi connectivity to be setup...

The scale is running FW 2.08.00
