Im having the same issue. Just purchases the Garmin Index  S2 Smart Scale and it wont let me add device.  Contacted customer service and they couldn't help me.  Told me i had to mail it back to them at my own expense.  SO basically Garmin is selling expensive paper weights and they know it. 

  • I didn’t buy it to pair the scale, but to connect sensors and smart trainer to my pc and play with Zwift, Rouvy, Sufferfest and others...

    I have the same issue.

    However, I'm not sure I'm willing to buy an ANT+ dongle just for setting up the scale. Did anybody find a different solution?

    Support told me to try to connect to WLAN first, but my Scale does not show the WLAN symbol and does not react to me pressing the WPS button on my router.

  • I've the same problem. Using Android and I am not possible to run the setup process succesfully. Error is on German: Koppelung (pairing) ist fehlgeschlagen (failed).
    Support told me, that Garmin hast a Problem with the current GMC Version, I have to wait!

    I have the same issue. I tried One Plus 8, Samsung tablet and iPad. Three times the same result: pairing failed.

    I tried pc with ANT+ and Garmin Express and all I get is errors as well. 

    A new scale fresh out of the box and can't even get it to pair with 4 different devices, this is ridiculous...

  • Solved this problem with help of a friend how has a IPone. Using the IPhone, the setup was done, without any problems. After this setup, the scale did a Firmware upgrade. After that, I resetet the scale and now, I could finaly run also this setup with my Android at home, without  any hassel. It seams to me to be a Problem with the GMC and Scale FW Version.

    Hi Garmin please help!!  Same issue - brand new index s2 scales and have tried 10 times today (Xmas) to connect iPhone 11pro via Bluetooth.  Have forgotten device, removed from GarminConnect etc etc.  I have Garmin 520Plus, 920XT and they connect completely fine same day.  Spent 1.5 hours with the Index Scales wasting a lot of time.  Have reset scales many times also.  Am very experienced at connecting Garmin so really appreciate your urgent support!!

  • Brand new S2 scale - wasn't able to connect with bluetooth.

    This is what worked for me: Try signing out and then back into the Garmin Connect app.  For more help see: Steps to Sign Out of the Garmin Connect App

  • I get pairing was rejected by index smart scale when try to add the scale with bluetooth. In the app it nothing happens, it ends up in troubleshooting.

    I have reseted the Scale, logged out from the app, restarted my android phone nothing works, so need some help
